At least for several hundred rounds. 3) Lock the bolt back and run a fingernail down the recoil spring rod. Is it a little "gritty", or very smooth? You probably need to lightly sand and polish it. Brass casings were flung much farther and more forcefully than with the stock extractor, which was getting worn after several thousand rounds being shot out of the gun. Just feeling the extractor you can tell it has a very sharp, hard edge that grabs hold of the casing better than the stock extractor.

Asked him about the VQ extractors. He kinda laughed, then told me what to do. "Take out your factory extractor. Deburr all the edges. Check, clean and possibly deburr the hole in the bolt where the spring/plunger ass'y fits, and check the slot the extractor lives in for burrs.

WebbThe Ruger 22/45 is the most widely used gun for rimfire challenge. It seems to appear everywhere, from local matches, to world championships. It always finds it’s place. It is very rare though, that you find one completely stock.
