WebAug 8, 2009 · The right front was about 3/4" high and the right rear was about 1/2" high. I cut about 1 full coil on the right front with a cut off wheel, and now it sits perfect. I cut a half of the coil the first time, put everything back together, drove it again, then had to cut almost another half coil off to get it right. WebApr 17, 2013 · You will probably have to turn the wheels to one side to get at the spring. That will tell you approx how much 1 coil will drop the car - I say approx because the spring rate increases (#/inch) as you cut it shorter. This technique works best on specific rate coils, not progressive rate coils.

I ended up removing 3/4 of a coil for a 2" drop. Results will vary widely, because springs and height are not consistent. I cut 1/2 a coil. Rides the same and lowered it 1" just make sure the spring is sitting in the pocket right and everything is fine. I can understand not cutting more then 1coil. I only wanted another inch and drop coils don't ride that great IMO.
