WebI used warm water on a cotton square and held it gently on the piercing (front and back), then I applied saline solution, followed by more warm compress soakings. Taking some over the counter medicine to reduce swelling may help too. Make sure that whatever you use to soak your piercing won't leave any material behind (avoid q-tips!).
